I cannot lie...I love autumn. It is quite possibly one of my favorite times of year. I love the colors, the smells, the hot apple cider. I love the flicker of anticipation of all the upcoming holidays. Ah... Autumn. In many ways, it seems more the start of a year to me. I guess because I am teaching, it seems that all things stir again come fall. I make my resolutions, buy new clothes, revamp my organization levels...you know all the new year ta da's that we all go for. I want to sharpen pencils and polish my shoes. I want to bake a coffee cake and share it with my mom. I can hardly wait for my annual beginning of fall tradition...when I finally allow myself to order the Hot Caramel Apple Cider from the coffee shop to ring in the "new year"! Nobody knows in the store that this is a special drink for a special moment...but I do. Actually, last year's inaugural cider happened in the most fun way. I got to ring in Fall in Manhattan with a dear friend and my hot cider! It was a lovely little celebration. Where will it be this year??
